In winter, the resort of Morillon 1100 is “on skis” with its chalet accommodation, harmoniously nestled into the wooded Plateau des Esserts, and nearby shops makes for a hassle-free holiday. With its 265 km of slopes, 142 slopes and 71 ski lifts, Grand Massif gives you major advantages with easy access to the resorts of Flaine, Morillon, Samoens, Sixt and Les Carroz! From walks in the woods, to “great outdoor” high-altitude skiing through the intense black slopes, or magnificent hors-piste skiing, the variety of the terrain enjoys wide renown among ski specialists.
For freestylers on grass, Grand Massif offers the “Jampark” (Flaine Snowpark) and a wide range of play areas, of which no less than 3 are located in Morillon (Ze Marvel Safari, Ze KidsPark, Ze FunPark). Icing on the cake: one of the best snows in the French Alps! Great ski lovers cannot resist the gorgeous quality of the snow also in the Combe de Gers or in the narrow black slope of Diamant Noir. You’ll be thoroughly surprised when exiting the Flaine DMC station as you discover the exceptional views the landscape has to offer! Behind the Chaine des Fiz in the foreground, you’ll be facing all the highest peaks of the Mont Blanc massif: the Aiguille Verte, Aiguille du Midi, Trois Mont Blanc, and Dômes de Miage… a truly breathtaking landscape! Yet he views do not stop there: Massif des Aravis, Dents Blanches, Belledonne, Vercors, Jura… the scenes are unforgettable!
A moment to relax? Summer: Grand Massif lives on!
At the top of the Bergin chairlift, the Igloo welcomes you to take a break and enjoy its sunny terrace. You can also come and relax at the “Alpage de la Vieille” alpine pasture located at 1500m on the slopes of Morillon 1100. You’ll have easy access to the alpine pasture with two chairlifts from Morillon (Les Esserts and Bergin), which are open every day. On arriving at the second chairlift on the left you have about a 400m walk to reach the alpine pasture.
For the more energetic, there is a marked path from Morillon 1100 leading you up to the alpine pasture. The trail is beautiful, taking you through both the forest and alpine pasture. You can taste the local produce as you have the option to eat on site and buy goat Tomme. You’ll receive a very warm welcome and the free-roaming young goats and sheep will guarantee you an unforgettable experience.
