Wandering around the old town of Taninges, you will discover some fabulous buildings (16th – 19th century) around the marketplace: a fountain, ancient middle-class houses, archways, a chapel and an ancient bridge passing over the Foron.

Taninges is located at the crossroads of the road linking Annemasse and Sixt and the road linking Cluses and Thonon. This is also where the Giffre and Foron rivers meet. Throughout the centuries, the village has developed thanks to trading. The town centre was formerly located in the hamlet of Flérier. It was then moved and centered around the marketplace, the plans of which haven’t changed since 1730. Come and explore Sainte-Anne Chapel, the middle-class houses, the old humpback bridge, the Foron docks and Saint Jean-Baptiste Church
